A Deep Dive into Quif Trend:01 – The Player

Published date 29 June 2023

We’re sure we’ve all had our fair share of these in life… skin-fade clients that is!

Introducing “The Player”, featured as part of the Quif Trend:01 collection from The Quif Art Team. This look showcases the popular, commercial skin-fade cut most young guys are requesting in salons and barbers across the country alongside the growing demand for blonde on a darker base.

Quif Artist Michele Bjelan says “this concept is very much on-trend due to the polished look this tone gives a buzz cut. The colour is super crisp which makes it one of the most striking and eye-catching looks within the collection.”

Michele adds “toners are key with this look! It’s vital to correct the tone and achieve that finished, polished look when the hair has been lightened to level 10 pale yellow.”

In order to maintain such a bright tone, Michele also suggests to “use a professional violet toning shampoo and conditioner, such as Shed Planet Blonde, to neutralise any yellow tones from the hair and with the added antioxidants, prevents breakage while adding shine.”

But who is the ideal client for this look?

Anyone looking to keep up with the latest trends but particularly someone who is bored with their virgin hair and happy to have their hair pre-lightened and toned.

Artist top tip: to achieve that crisp white result, apply dry shampoo to matte the hair out.

Keep an eye out on the blog over the next few weeks for more deep dives into each look in the Quif Trend:01 collection!
