This is your reminder to clean your hair dryer filter...

In the world of professional hair styling, selecting the best styling tools and the best hair care products contributes to the overall health and appearance of your hair. Yet, one of the most overlooked aspects of maintaining healthy locks when styling your client's locks is in the cleanliness of your hair dryer filter!

When it comes to taking the best care of your Alfa Italia Aurora dryer, it's likely your clients are unaware of the impact a clogged-up, dirty filter can have on their hair. And let's face it, we're all guilty of neglecting our hair tools every once in a while! With the filter's main purpose to trap dust and debris, this creates a barrier restricting the hair dryer's airflow over time. In effect, this can cause the hair dryer to overheat and stop working altogether. This is why it is super important that your clients (and yourself!) clean your hair dryers filters regularly! Let's walk through a simple step-by-step guide on how to keep your hair's companion in optimal condition.

How to clean your filter:

1. Power off and unplug!

Before cleaning your filter, it is only common sense to make sure your hair dryer is powered off and unplugged for health and safety reasons.

2. Locating your filter

With your Alfa Italia Aurora, you'll find your filter at the back of the dryer.

3. Remove the filter cage

Gently clip off the filter cage from the hair dryer and place it to one side.

4. Brush and clean

Use a soft clean brush or unused toothbrush to gently sweep away and accumulated dust and debris. We also recommend cleaning the filter cage by letting it sit in a bowl of lukewarm soapy water for 30 minutes to further remove any debris. Do not use water to clean the dryer's filter.

5. Allow to dry

Ensure you allow the filter cage to air-dry completely before reattaching it to the filter.

6. Reattaching your filter cage

Securely attach your dry and sparkly clean filter cage to the hairdryer's filter making sure it is fitted snugly to prevent any gaps that may allow further debris to enter.

7. Keep up the maintenance!

Now that you're a filter cleaning pro, make cleaning your hair dryer filter a monthly step in your hair care routine. This will make sure your hairdryer is in its best condition and can provide you with the best hair styling looks. By following these simple steps regularly you'll improve your styling experience, and produce beautiful hair looks every time, as well as increasing the longevity of your hair styling companion.

How often should you be cleaning your filter?

Within a salon environment, it's expected that you're using your hair dryer multiple times a day, and therefore should be cleaning the filter at least once a week. The important part of maintaining the cleanliness of your hair dryer is keeping consistent with your cleaning routine, to prolong the life of your heated tools. If your client's are using their Alfa Italia Aurora a couple of days a week, we recommend cleaning your filter a minimum of 3 times a month.
