Autumn Haircut Trends of 2025
Published date 19 September 2025

What better way to start the new season than with a new haircut? Autumn is the perfect time for clients to book a fresh cut that will give them an edgier new look, a whole lot of personality, or something super low-maintenance. This season’s must-have styles are all about texture, volume and being completely effortless, AKA everything our hair needs during these busier months. With a whole lot of bobs and some throwback looks, we have the trending autumnal haircuts that are going to shake up the salon.
The 80s Diva Cut

Big hair is back, and we have Sabrina Carpenter to thank for that. Inspired by her Short N’ Sweet tour looks, this cut channels her infamous layers and bangs, but with a whole lot more volume and dimension. The key to this cut is a 90-degree shape when framing the layers, to give as much volume as possible, as well as a thick curtain fringe that skims (or even covers) the eyes. Pairing this cut with a bouncy blowdry or big, tight curls for maximum drama, it’s super glam, playful, and gives a whole lot of diva!
The Bixie

Clients can’t decide between a bob and a pixie? Enter the Bixie Cut, a playful combo of the two. Think of the autumn queen, Meg Ryan, in the '90s rocking her signature shaggy bob with lots of layers that bring softness and bounce while still keeping enough length to style. It’s the perfect haircut for clients who want a seasonal refresh without sacrificing versatility.
The French Bob
Say “Bonjour!” to the chicest cut of the year. Sofia Richie Grainge brought this look into the spotlight this summer with her blunt, jawline-grazing bob that she’s been wearing in a centre parting. It’s usually a one-length cut, texturised just enough to soften the edge, but it still has that blunt feel to it. This is an ideal cut for anyone making the leap from long to short, as the French Bob ensures to keep the ends thick, looking super healthy and care-free.
The Rodeo Bob
If the French Bob is too ‘clean girl’ for your clients, meet its rebellious cousin instead. The Rodeo Bob - chin-to-collarbone length, stacked with flicky layers and a grown-out fringe, the Rodeo Bob has that cool girl, slightly shaggy energy that screams effortless. It’s cool and choppy rather than sharp and perfect, and the result gives effortless movement and adds serious street style to your client's look.
The Broken Fringe

Fringes are getting a major upgrade this autumn, thanks to the Broken Fringe. Inspired by Dakota Johnson and Alison Brie, the Broken Fringe is the ultimate choppy, lived-in fringe that gives an edgy finish, working well styled messy and grungy as it does sleek and glossy. With feathered edges and a subtle 70s influence, the Broken Fringe is a super flattering cut that makes it a versatile go-to this season.

The Ripped Bob

Are we surprised? Another bob has entered the chat, and while the French Bob may be more polished, this Ripped Bob gives more attitude. This bob is cut one to two inches longer than a classic bob, with deconstructed layers that create a slightly irregular, undone finish. Rather than sharp, neat and perfect, it’s cooler, edgier, and much choppier.
This autumn, the haircut trends are adding plenty of texture and dimension, making the ‘undone’ vibe look super edgy and carefree. With this texturing trend, don’t forget to stock up on your favourite volumising and texturising sprays ready for the season ahead.
