Milk Tea Hair: The Creamy Cool-Toned Bronde Taking Over 2026

Published date 02 March 2026

Back to article listing

If your social feeds are full of creamy, neutral brunettes that look effortlessly expensive and super aesthetic, you’re already seeing one of 2026’s trending hair colour shades: Milk Tea Hair. Inspired by the silky, light brown shade of milky tea, this colour sits between blonde and brunette, making it the perfect cool-toned bronde with a beigey-brown base. With a slight hint of ash, this adds a muted, modern finish to the hair that’s neither icy nor too yellow. Imagine taupe, light ash and neutral beige that looks super silky and soft.

For salons, Milk Tea Hair is the perfect opportunity to offer that Instagram-worthy, trend-let hair shade that feels super expensive, yet achievable. Let’s discuss why clients are loving this hair colour and how you can achieve this in your salon space.

Why Clients Are Loving Milk Tea Hair

Milk Tea Hair is basically the equivalent of bronde; it’s softer and more wearable than a bright, dramatic blonde, but also lighter and fresher than a classic brunette. It grows out beautifully, so it will be a low-maintenance option for clients, as well as can also be customised either lighter or deeper depending on your client's preference.

The beauty of this shade lies in the balance. The beige is created by combining gold and violet tones, with the gold keeping the hair looking healthy and dimensional, while the violet tones soften any unwanted warmth. Sounds pretty perfect, right? The result is neutral and elegant, and we‘re obsessed with the results.

How To Achieve Milk Tea Hair In The Salon

When creating the perfect Milk Tea tone, it’s important to start with a clean, even base. As this shade relies on controlled neutralisation, it might be necessary to pre-lighten the clients’ hair. We teamed up with our Quif Educator, Sara Simpson, to get her toning formulation recommendation when creating the ultimate Milk Tea Hair shade using Quif Professional.

Aesthetic, elevated colour is here to stay in 2026

Milk Tea Hair is proof that not every hair trend needs to be bold to make an impact. Instead, it’s the want of soft, wearable and low-maintenance colour that makes clients feel luxurious and put together, without being unattainable. Creamy, cool-toned, and beautifully balanced, Milk Tea Hair should definitely become a new favourite in your salon.
