Trending Bridal Hairstyles with Bridal Hair Expert, Darcey Clarke

Published date 16 March 2026

Back to article listing

Wedding season is soon to be in full swing, and if you’re booked up for bridal hair appointments, it’s a must to know what your clients could be asking for. 2026 is bringing a modern take on bridal elegance, with glossy finishes and polished styles, but in the most effortless way. Brides are leaning towards looks that feel timeless yet fresh, which will combine classic looks with softer textures.

To bring these trending looks to life, bridal hair expert Darcey Clarke has selected four beautiful bridal styles that she thinks we’ll be seeing a lot of in the bridal world, using her go-to bridal styling products from professional haircare brand Shed. If you’re preparing for consultations and trials this wedding season, these looks are the perfect inspiration to add to your bridal portfolio.

Trend 1: Soft Luxurious Waves

If there’s one bridal look that will never go out of style, it’s the soft, glossy wave. This modern take on Old Hollywood glamour is elegant and romantic, perfect for brides who want their hair styled down but still looking super polished. The soft waves focus heavily on shine, movement and a smooth finish, making it the ultimate hairstyle that photographs beautifully from every angle!

To achieve this look, Darcey recommends prepping the hair with Shed’s Cement Extreme Hold Texture Hair Spray, which can be applied both before and after styling. Due to the strong holding technology from the multi-functional dynam polymers, Darcey suggests using this sparingly! Cement includes heat protection up to 230, so there is no need to pack an extra bottle of heat protectant into your kit. Once the waves are brushed out and shaped, finish with the Shed Mirror Mirror Shine Spray to add that gorgeous high-gloss shine that gives the hair a luxurious finish.

Trend 2: Sleek Minimalist Styles

Minimalism is having a major moment in bridal hair, and we’re so here for it. With low buns, polished chignons and elegant ponytails making their way into the bridal hair rotation, they’ll have your brides feeling effortlessly chic all throughout their big day. These styles are perfect for the modern bride who wants something clean and structured with a hint of sophistication.

For the ultimate sleek, minimalist style, Darcey recommends using Shed’s Climate Control Anti-humidity Protection Spray to keep the style smooth and controlled throughout the day. Once the hair is secured into the sleek and smoothed style, take Shed’s High Rise Medium Hold Hairspray for a lightweight hold, and Shed’s Mirror Mirror, again for that polished shine.

Trend 3: The Half-Up, Half-Down Classic

The half-up, half-down style remains a bridal favourite for a clear reason. It offers the perfect balance between wearing the hair down and having some structure through the crown, creating an elegant and romantic finish. This style also allows for endless creativity at the back of the hair, from twists and braids to soft detailing and accessories.

To create this classic, timeless look, Darcey suggests prepping the hair with Shed’s Pump Up Volumising Blow Dry Spray for volume when curling, and Shed’s Climate Control to keep the style smooth, sleek, and controlled. Once styled, Darcey will again reach for Shed’s Mirror Mirror as the ultimate finishing spray. She also recommends taking Shed’s Con[seal]er, a camouflaging cream for frizz and split ends, to perfect the final look and keep it looking seamless.

Trend 4: Slicked-Back Elegance

For brides who love a bold, fashion-forward look, then a slicked-back style is the way to go. Becoming increasingly popular in the bridal scene, a sleek bun, sculpted ponytail, or pulled-back look is Darcey’s go-to when a slick-back is requested. These looks are all about creating structure and, of course, that high-shine finish.

Firstly, Darcey recommends prepping the hair with Shed’s Tropic Oil Melting Hair Whip to provide deep moisture to the hair while achieving a smooth, glossy base. Once styled into the client's slick back of choice, Darcey will take the Shed High Rise Strong Hold Hairspray to lock the look into place, to keep it flawless from the ceremony to the dance floor.

With these trending looks set to take over wedding season in 2026, having a portfolio of luxurious and effortlessly elegant styles ready for your bridal clients is key. It’s also just as important as knowing how to properly prep the hair to ensure every style lasts from the bride walking down the aisle to boogying on the dance floor. With these four trending looks from bridal expert, Darcey Clarke, you’ll be in the perfect position to inspire your bridal clients and create beautiful hairstyles confidently.
