Introducing Quif Professional X Little Princess Trust: The Importance of Raising Awareness within the Professional Hair Industry

Published date 20 March 2026

Back to article listing

In the hairdressing industry, we know that hair gives us an identity and the confidence to be and express ourselves. And one of the few organisations that embody this is the Little Princess Trust. This is a charity that is dedicated to providing real hair wigs to children and young people across the UK who have lost their hair due to illness.

In collaboration with Alan Howard, we sat down with the amazing team from the Little Princess Trust, Phil & Wendy, to talk about their journey, the impact of their work, and their exciting new collaboration with Quif Professional. Through this collaboration, Quif have redesigned their foils, gowns and aprons to create a limited edition bundle of salon essentials, so professionals and clients can embody the cause in their salon every day.

The Foundation of the Little Princess Trust

The Little Princess Trust grew into a powerful, purpose-driven organisation built on the vision, “To give Hair and Hope to every child and young person with cancer until there is no longer a need for what we do.” (Little Princess Trust, 2026). With backgrounds in sales, marketing and business development, Phil, Wendy, and the team at Little Princess Trust are able to bring their valuable skills to the charity space, to help it grow and reach those in need, staying true to its core vision and mission. With strong personal connections, family involvement, and a shared community, the Little Princess Trust carries that same family-feeling today and is driven by the people who genuinely want to make an impact.

Keeping the Charity Accessible & Simple

Both Wendy and Phil emphasise that at the heart of Little Princess Trust is a clear focus on making the service as accessible as possible for every child who needs it. They both highlight the importance of keeping things simple; creating a process that is quick and supportive, and doesn’t add to the family’s stress. There is no complicated eligibility process or barriers. Instead, the focus is on providing a service that is inclusive and easy to access. Importantly, it’s about giving children something positive to hold onto and to have hope, even in the most challenging circumstances.

Real Impacts and Real Stories

One of the most powerful parts of the Little Princess’s Trust is the direct connection they have with the families they support. Both Wendy and Phil speak to every recipient, seeing firsthand the differences that a wig can make to a child's life. For instance, children are starting to regain confidence to go to school and feel like themselves again. Phil emphasises that each wig is more than just hair, it’s a deep, personal gift that’s often made possible through donations that carry their own personal story.

Wendy mentions that there is a wider shift happening in the charity. Through their work, the Little Princess Trust is helping to break down the stigma around wigs, with more children feeling confident and empowered to wear them. Education makes a huge difference, too, with schools getting involved from fundraising to even designing wigs, to help younger generations understand the impact they can have.

The Importance of Increasing Awareness in the Professional Hair Industry

For the team at the Little Princess Trust, raising awareness is just as important as the service itself, and that's where the professional hair industry can play a big role. Phils tells us, “This industry talks, that’s what it does! So what better way to spread awareness than through the tools hairdressers use every single day?”

The collaboration with Quif Professional brings that idea to life. By introducing the Little Princess Trust-branded foils, gowns and aprons, the partnership turns everyday salon essentials into a powerful conversation starter that can change someone’s life.

When the team at Quif Professional started to envision this collaboration with the Little Princess Trust, they knew foils, gowns and aprons would be the perfect way to bring the partnership to life. Whilst they are staple items that stylists already use, now, they carry a message. It creates a natural gateway to talk to clients about the charity, without the need to hard sell or formally explain. The awareness happens organically, client by client, and that’s exactly how Phil & Wendy encourage the charity to grow.

Partnerships that matter

This collaboration with the Little Princess Trust is about visibility and connection. By integrating the Little Princess Trust into salons, it allows hairdressers and salon owners to play a part in something bigger. Every salon appointment can become an opportunity to raise awareness and spark conversation, to inspire action.

The Little Princess Trust stays true to its message of delivering meaningful services, funding vital research and continuing to provide hope for families who need it most. But what stands out most of all is the authenticity. The Little Princess Trust is more than just a charity; it’s a community built on kindness and the genuine desire to make a difference. And now, with the support of the professional hair industry and partners like Quif Professional and Alan Howard, this message can reach even further.
