Quif Centre Stage 2025: Colour, Creativity & a Whole Lot of Inspiration

This year’s Quif Centre Stage competition was back and better than ever for its 4th year, with a night of artistry, inspiration and boundary-pushing colour. From an 8am start to a 4pm deadline, finalists coloured, cut and styled their models' hair before heading to the venue to showcase their work to the judges, and an audience of like-minded professionals. The evening features live demos with Quif Artists Georgia Bell and Brooke Evans, the Alan Howard Podcast Live, and of course, the jaw-dropping Centre Stage final.

Laura - Pretty In Punk

Salon owner and educator, Laura, combined raw, rebellious punk with soft, feminine energy, a nostalgic nod to her teen years.
Before:
Formula:
- Roots: Blast Make Me Blush + Pink Cadillac
- Mids: Blast Tickle Me Pink
- Ends: Blast Drama Queen
- The dark base pre-coloured with 6:03 Magi:gloss, glazed with Quint:essential in colour 5.The extensions were patterned with Blast Make Me Blush, Pink Cadillac, Tickle Me Pink and the bold, black lines in Midnight Oil + Inky Blue.

Laura says:
“My look is called Pretty In Punk, and it’s a blend of two styles: raw, rebellious punk with a soft, feminine edge. Basically, how I wanted to look when I was 14. I just loved the Avril Lavigne vibes! With Quif, I love the diversity of the products; it has everything you need from glosses to added pigments. If you’re entering Quif Centre Stage, definitely put a moodboard together so you can bring your inspiration to life!”
Amelia - Elemental Firestorm

For her very first colour competition, Amelia went all in with a fiery, multi-hued creation that celebrated creative freedom.

- Roots: Magi:colour 66.66, 77.66, 6.0, 006 + 20 vol
- Ends: 77.66, 88.66, 066 + 1.5 developer
- Blast Cherry Lips on the entire head
- Fire panels: Mixed Blast Red Alert, Rubber Duck and Copper Head
- Extensions: Layered Blast Red Alert, Inky Blue, Deep Purple, Raspberry Ripple


Amelia says:
“My look is Elemental Firestorm. I used a mixture of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet to create my final look to represent the evolution and movement of fire. I entered Quif Centre Stage because it’s my first colour competition, and I wanted to explore that side of my work to let out my artistic side with a bit of free rein! I absolutely loved working with Quif’s Blast - it’s just incredible! The shine, the coverage, the vibrancy, I absolutely love it! If you’re entering next year, just go for it, don’t overthink it!”
Rhian - Y2K

Rhian’s look was a bold Y2K-inspired leopard print balayage, celebrating fearless self-expression.

Technique:
- Balayage in foil & panel highlights with leopard print design
Formula:
- Balayage in foils using Magi:light 9+ Premium Lightener
- Roots: Magi:colour in 5:73 + 10 vol.
- Panels: Blended Raspberry Ripple + Tickle Me Pink using Midnight Oil for the leopard print pattern.


Rhian says:
“I’ve gone for a Y2K vibe, inspired by self-expression and embracing your bold self. I entered Quif Centre Stage to get back into competitions - I love being able to showcase my creativity. I love the range in Quif, especially Blast! It’s so easy to use and understand, I just love it! My advice for those wanting to enter next year…just go for it! You never know what might happen, and it will really help your confidence.”
Daniel - Peace Rose

Working at the prestigious Joseph Feraro Hair salon in Harrogate, Daniel's entry was inspired by the Peace Rose, a famous flower to commemorate the end of World War II, with its delicate blend of pink and yellow tones.
Before:
Technique:
- Subtle highlights with Magi:light+ and 3% developer for a clean lift
- Carefully placed layered toner to create that petal-like gradation
Formula:
- Yellow tones: Blast Rubber Duck mixed with White Lightning
- Pink tones: Pink Cadillac blended with White Lightning
- Extensions: Midnight depth at the ends using Blast Midnight Oil
- Top veil gloss: Magi:gloss10-13 for a soft, luminous finish


Daniel says:
“My look is inspired by the Peace Rose. If you’ve never seen one before, it’s got yellows and pinks through it, and it works perfectly on my model’s complexion. I love how accurate and reliable Quif colour is. I can go to the colour bar and get exactly what I want, and the colour just works exactly how I need it to every time.”
The result? A radiant, multi-dimensional colour that seamlessly goes from sunny yellow to petal-pink, with inky tips for depth.
Robyn - Timeless Trends

With 20 years in the industry, salon owner and self-employed Robyn brought a whole lot of denim in hair form, paired with a timeless haircut, the bob.
Before:


Technique:
- Pre-lightened scalp 1 week prior, dry hair panel colouring, and basic marbling for a “washed denim” effect
Formula:
- Scalp bleach: Magi:tone using 3 drops of violet using the 9+ lightener and 22vol developer
- Front PanelL Magi:colour T:11 + T:28
- The distressed denim tones were created using Quint:essential TDB + 0.11
- Root Shadow: Blast Storm Cloud + Inky Blue


Robyn says:
“My theme was Timeless Trends, so I based my colour on denim, it’s a staple in everyone’s wardrobe and evolves with every era! I paired it with a classic bob, another timeless cut. I love Quif Professional because it’s vegan and cruelty-free, which aligns with my salon’s morals. I also love the shine, and how you can formulate so many colours with their innovative products…especially the lighteners!”
And the winner is…
After a day of fierce competition and inspiring artistry, Amelia took home the winning ‘Q’ trophy with her fiery ‘Elemental Firestorm’ creation.
Just like that, Centre Stage is a wrap! We’re beyond proud of how the night went, and couldn’t be more excited for the future of our talented contestants. We want to say a very big congratulations to Amelia, as well as our other contestants, who blew the roof off!
