The Trending Haircuts of Summer 2026

Published date 25 June 2026

Back to article listing
New season? New haircut. And if there is ever a time for clients to feel tempted to book a chop, it’s summer. With summer’s biggest hair trends centred around softness, movement and wearable styling, there’s never been a better time for clients to book in for a seasonal refresh. Including 90s-inspired styles to cool girl bobs, let’s jump into the summer haircut trends that your clients will be bringing to your salon this summer.

The 90’s Lob

If there’s one celeb that’s going to be setting the trend for summer, it’s obviously going to be Hailey Bieber. And this summer, she’s flaunting the effortlessly glamorous 90s bob. Don’t be fooled! This isn’t your classic short bob. Sitting between a bob and lob, this shoulder-skimming style brings shape and bounce to the finish, as well as that signature ’90s blow-dry finish. Think Rachel Green in Friends, but with a 2026 update.

The Bixie Cut

Short hair is definitely having a moment this summer, and leading the charge is Zendaya’s latest Bixie Cut, which she’s been flaunting at the red carpets.  If you’re unfamiliar with this cut, the Bixie is exactly what it sounds like: a hybrid between a pixie cut and a bob. It combines the softness and versatility of a bob with the edge of a pixie cut. Zendaya makes this cut look so elegant and effortless, and we’re obsessed with how versatile it is. It’s the perfect choice for clients who want something bold without having to commit to an ultra-short crop.

The Scandi Bob

Minimalists, this cut is for you. The Scandi Bob continues to dominate summer thanks to its clean shape and cool-girl aesthetic. Unlike heavily layered bobs, the Scandi Bob focuses on crisp lines, subtle softness and natural movement, resulting in a finish that looks polished without appearing overly styled. Basically, it’s the definition of effortless.

Pro Tip: Have your clients take home a bottle of texture spray from the salon. Adding this to their hairstyling routine will add some movement and shape to their look. Perfect when on the go!

The Curly Wolf Cut

For the curly-haired clients, summer 2026 belongs to the Curly Wolf Cut. Combining elements of a shag and mullet, this cut has become hugely popular as it enhances the client's natural texture while removing excess weight. The strategically placed layers create volume through the crown while allowing the client's coils to spring into their natural shape. It’s playful and packed with personality, making a great haircut for clients who want more volume without their curls feeling weighed down.

90s Layers with the ‘C’ Curl

Let’s be honest, this cut never really goes out of style. One of the biggest haircut trends for summer 2026 is the return of the heavily layered cut paired with the iconic C-shaped curl through the ends. The 90s layered cut, also known as the Butterfly Cut, is packed with bounce and volume. The strategic placement of layers helps remove bulk while creating shape. Paired with the signature curved styling, this cut gives the hair that salon-fresh finish every client craves. Once paired with a bouncy blow-dry, your clients have got themselves one of the most requested looks of the season. If our clients are lacking body this summer, this cut will be the ultimate game-changer.
