How To Elevate Your Salon's Glossing Services with Redken

Published date 03 August 2026

Back to article listing

National Gloss Week is the ultimate moment to remind your clients why they trust a professional with their hair health. This year, we are taking the standard glossing service and supercharging it. Introducing the Redken Protein Gloss Service, a premium, dual-action service that bridges the gap between colour and care. By combining the legendary pH-balanced shine of Shades EQ with the reparative power of the Acidic Concentrates Backbar System, you can now offer a Glow Up that repairs and maximises shine.

Tailored Strength, Mirror-Like Shine: The New Protocol for a Personalised Glow

Step 1: The Luminous Foundation

The journey to high-gloss hair begins with Redken Shades EQ. Whether you choose  ‘Clear’  for a mirror-like glaze or a customised palette for a tonal refresh, this iconic acidic formula is more than a colour; it’s a liquid shine treatment that visibly reverses damage from the very first touch.

Step 2: The Bespoke Cleanse

Once the gloss has worked its magic in a 20-minute processing time, transition to the backbar for a tailored cleanse. Rinse thoroughly and select the Redken Shampoo specifically curated for your client’s unique hair needs.

Step 3: The Custom Power-Dose

This is where repair meets the Pro diagnosis. At the backbar, after shampooing, apply a personalised infusion of Acidic Concentrate to treat the hair from the inside out:

  • For hair requiring strength, apply the  Acidic Protein Concentrate to balance protein levels and fortify the hair fibre.
  • To transform dry or unruly hair, apply the  Acidic Moisture Concentrate to replenish essential lipids for a weightless moisture boost.
  • For hair in need of protein and moisture, customise your treatment by layering both the Acidic Protein Concentrate and the Acidic Moisture Concentrate onto the hair.
  • After a 5-minute development time, complete the infusion with the  Acidic pH Sealer before rinsing and conditioning. This essential step shrink-wraps the cuticle, sealing the concentrates deep within the hair for lasting transformation.

Step 4: The Protective Veil

Before the heat meets the hair, apply the  Acidic Bonding Concentrate Leave-In Treatment. This silky, protective veil provides 230° heat defence while continuing to reinforce weakened bonds, ensuring the hair remains as strong as it is beautiful.

Elevate your service menu this National Gloss Week.  Ensure your backbar is stocked with Shades EQ and the full Acidic Concentrate Backbar Range to give your clients the ultimate glow-up they deserve!
