Country Chic Hair: The Hairstyle Trend Taking Over 2026

Published date 30 July 2026

Back to article listing
Country-inspired styles are having a major moment in 2026, and it’s not just cowboy boots and hats that are making a comeback. With the rise of artists like Ella Langley and country star Kacey Musgraves, ‘Country Chic’ hair is quickly becoming one of the biggest hairstyle trends of 2026. Including effortless texture, glossy big waves, and lots of volume, discover how to recreate the country signature style that makes your clients look like they should be at a country music festival.

We love this country chic trend for its wearability, being the perfect combination of polished yet relaxed at the same time. So, if your clients want to recreate this trending style in the salon, we caught up with our Shed Artist Charlotte Singleton to share her go-to technique and styling products to achieve both Ella Langley’s modern cowgirl waves and Kacey Musgraves’ signature country glamour look.

Look 1: Ella’s Modern Cowgirl Waves

To sum up Ella’s signature hair look, it’s the perfect combination of effortless texture with lots of volume. The look combines soft, brushed-out waves with plenty of lift at the roots, creating a perfectly imperfect finish that’s a must-have with the modern country style.

To begin, Charlotte recommends applying the Shed Inflatable Volume Boost Styling Blow Dry Gel throughout the hair before blow drying. Lifting the hair upwards at the roots while drying will help to create that body and fullness to give the style its signature shape.

Once the hair is dry, Charlotte preps the hair with Shed’s Force Field Heat Styling Protection Spray before styling with a large barrel tong. Charlotte suggests curling each section away from the face from the mid-lengths while leaving the ends slightly straighter to create a more relaxed finish rather than the traditional polished curl.

To complete the look, Charlotte works Shed’s Beehive Back Combing Effect Texture Spray through the hair before gently separating the curls with her fingers to create a soft, lived-in wave. To finish, Charlotte mists the Shed Mirror Mirror Shine Enhancing Finishing Spray to add a glossy finish without taking away the movement. For clients that want even more texture, Charlotte suggests using a mermaid wave (preferably the Alfa Italia Tropea Multi-Wave Styler) through selected sections to create an effortlessly undone finish.

Look 2: Kacey Musgrave’s Polished Country Glam

If your clients prefer a more refined take on country chic, Kacey Musgraves’ signature hairstyle is the perfect inspiration! Full of bounce, shine and movement that just feels luxurious, this 70’s Dolly Parton-inspired style feels timeless while still being incredibly on-trend.

Charlotte begins by applying Shed’s X-in1 Multi Perfect Treatment Spray through the mid-lengths and ends to smooth and condition the hair before adding Shed’s Foam Party Volumising Styling Foam at the roots to build lift and volume. Blow-drying upwards at the roots while keeping the lengths sleek will create the perfect foundation for the next stage of styling. Next, Charlotte applies Shed’s Force Field before using a regular-sized barrel tong. Curling each section in consistent patterns away from the face from roots to ends creates soft, flowing curls with plenty of bounce and movement. This will bring that super glamorous, big wavy look to life!

To finish, Shed Get A Grip Volumising Texture Dust is applied at the roots and around the face to add lift, structure and long-lasting volume. Finally, Charlotte adds a mist of Shed’s Mirror Mirror Shine Enhancing Spray to give the hair that healthy, glossy finish while keeping the curls soft and touchable.

Country Chic Is About To Blow Up

With country music continuing to hit the charts, there’s no surprise that these hairstyles are following suit. With Ella Langley’s textured, effortless waves and Kacey Musgraves’ polished glamour, the country chic hairstyle offers something for every client, being either a relaxed look or more of a refined finish. By focusing on volume with healthy-looking shine, these styles are perfect for festivals, concerts or everyday wear! And with Charlotte’s expert tips and product recs, you’ll have everything you need to recreate one of 2026’s biggest hair trends in the salon.
