Bora Bora Bronde: The Trending Sun-kissed Hair Colour To Know

Published date 15 October 2026

Back to article listing
Who would have thought we would be mentioning a tropical, hot, holiday-inspired hair shade in autumn? For now, we’re putting cosy season to the side to do a deep dive into this luxurious, sun-kissed shade we’re seeing everywhere at the moment.

Inspired by the golden sunshine of the tropical island Bora Bora, this hair shade adds a beachy, golden tone with plenty of dimension to create an effortlessly expensive bronde. Inspired by Tate McRae’s luminous bronde transformation, Bora Bora Bronde is here to bring holiday hair back into the salon. Blending a rich brunette depth with soft, sun-kissed ribbons on blonde, this trend will look like your client has spent weeks in the sunshine. So, if your clients want a brighter, warmer refresh while keeping depth that makes their colour look rich and healthy, we have just the look…

What is Bora Bora Bronde?

Bora Bora Bronde takes inspiration from the sun-bleached holiday hair you achieve from sitting out in the sun for hours, combining the natural depth of a brunette base with warm, golden-beige blonde highlights. Unlike an all-over blonde, this look relies on strategic placement and contrast. The roots and sections between the highlights remain deeper, while there are delicate ribbons of blonde that run through the mid-lengths and ends for that sun-kissed look. But the key to creating this look? Keeping everything soft and blended, with a glossy finish that catches the light perfectly.

How to create Bora Bora Bronde in the salon

In collaboration with Quif Educator Sara Simspon, she tells us, “Achieving this look requires thoughtful placement, controlled lightening and the right toner.” The aim is to create the most sun-kissed bronde by focusing on creating brightness without losing the natural depth that makes this blonde shade so wearable. So, ready to create this look in your salon? Let’s jump into it.

  • Build soft, sun-kissed dimension
Firstly, you want to start by assessing the client’s natural base, previous colour history, and desired level of brightness. Bora Bora Bronde works particularly well when you can preserve some of the client's natural depth to add back into the look.

Sara suggests using a combination of babylights and selective balayage to create soft ribbons of blonde throughout the hair. The babylights will help deliver delicate, diffused brightness, while the balayage adds a more graduated, sun-kissed effect through the mid-lengths and ends. Keep the face-framing sections brighter for that impactful blonde finish, and leave the depth between highlights and at the root to give the look its signature bronde.
  • Keep the root natural & blended
Sara tells us, “A seamless root is essential to achieving that lived-in finish.” Depending on the client’s natural base and the amount of warmth showing through, use Quif Magi:gloss or Quif Quint:essential to create a soft root blend and keep the depth between the lighter pieces.

Choose a formula that complements their natural base, and introduce an ashy tone to help neutralise any unwanted warmth. Sara recommends taking a low developer, such as the 1.5% for 20 minutes, as the aim is not to create a harsh shadow root, but to maintain a natural-looking base that melts seamlessly into the brighter lengths.
  • Gloss with Magi:gloss for a golden, beige finish
The final stage calls for a gloss shade that really brings the Bora Bora to life! Once the hair has been lightened and the root blend established, take your Quif Magi:gloss to refine the tone and enhance your client's shine. Sara recommends taking Magi:gloss in 8:03 & 8.13 to create a natural golden warmth with golden-beige tones for a softer finish. Develop for 20 minutes, rinse and dry, and watch the gorgeous, sunlit blonde for what it is!

Achieve Bora Bora Bronde with Quif

Bora Bora Bronde creates a colour that looks effortless with the right balance of brightness, depth and shine, and a combination of strategic babylights, selective balayage, and a natural root blend. Tailored with a Magi:gloss formula, you can truly create a bespoke, sun-kissed result that feels super fresh, like you’ve just spent the day at the beach. So, if your clients are looking to brighten up their look and add some sun-kissed warmth, Bora Bora Bronde is the ultimate choice.
